ABOUT HMS
HMS Heating and Air Conditioning is a veteran owned company, founded by Gary Hays on the principles of serving his community professionally with honesty and integrity, providing indoor comfort, and doing so at a reasonable price.
He wanted a company that would treat people the way he wanted to be treated by providing exceptional customer service, explaining the problem, and giving solutions as well as prices before any work is performed.
Gary is a North Texas native and served in the Marine Corps as an aviation electrician where he discovered his joy for fixing things. When he was discharged from the military (honorably) in New York, he married his beautiful wife and earned an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.
He worked at several different jobs as his wife finished up her schooling before relocating back to Texas. He finally settled on fixing air conditioning and heating, as he’d be able to serve the most people since most everyone in Texas needs A/C, and earned another Associates Degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology.
In 2015, after working in the industry for several years he decided to get his HVAC license shortly after his 3rd child was born and start HMS. He continues to educate himself on all the new technologies available and enjoys getting out there and solving people’s air conditioning and heating problems.

Gary Hays gave us great, professional service! We recently moved into a new house and when our a/c started blowing hot air, we called HMS and Gary came right out and gave a thorough investigation. He checked the attic first but was not satisfied he’d found the problem until he checked our pressures outside on the compressor. Apparently serviceman (different company) put 4 lbs of extra coolant and overloaded our compressor. I so appreciate Gary’s honesty and the knowledge he shared with us. I will not hesitate to call on him in the future and refer all of my friends to use HMS!
